Fisheries Development Fund

Special Scheme for Artisanal Fishing

The special loan scheme aims to assist Artisanal fishing boat owners with funding to purchase, repair or replace fishing equipment or undertake minor vessel repair. To be eligible for the scheme the applicant’s vessel must fall under the Artisanal fishery.

Loan Concession

A concessional loan of up to SCR3,000,000 for Seychellois investment in longline ventures and value addition.

Ownership

At least 51% of the beneficiary ownership must be held by Seychellois to qualify for the FDF loan.

Interest

Interest rate set at 3% per annum applies to all loans under the Fisheries Development Fund program.

Repayment

The repayment period is up to 10 years, offering borrowers enhanced flexibility in managing and repaying their loan.

Personal Contribution

Applicants must contribute 5% of the total project cost to be eligible for the loan.

Grace Period

A 12-month grace period begins after the last disbursement, easing initial repayment pressures.

Application Fee

The application fee is 1% of the total loan amount, with a maximum cap of SCR5,000, ensuring affordability.

Guarantee/Security for the loan

Loan guarantee and security will be required, as per Development Bank of Seychelles

To apply for a loan under the Fisheries Development Fund, applicants must submit the following documents. These documents are essential for processing your application and ensuring you meet the eligibility criteria. Please ensure all documents are complete and accurate to avoid delays in your application process.

  • FDF special scheme for artisanal fishing loan application form
  • Credit Information System (CIS) form
  • Politically Exposed Person (PEP) form
  • Specimen signature card

Know your Customer (KYC)

  • Valid ID Card/Passport
  • Proof of address that does not exceed a period of at least three months (Utility bill, Telephone bill, Bank statements or letter from District Administrator)
  • Passport size photo (X2)

For Companies

  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Certificate of official search of the company
  • Registered office of the Company
  • Details of authorised signatories
  • Board of resolution with regards to the business affair with DBS (if available)
  • Valid business license
  • Beneficial owner declaration

For Self-employed individuals/partnership

  • Valid Seychelles Fishing Authority Boat owner registration card
